Reporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager, the Rotating Equipment Reliability Supervisor position is primarily responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the Reliability functions for the site. The role will directly supervise 3 employees in the Reliability Team.
Specific responsibilities could include:
- Be a strong safety leader and actively support continuous safety improvement and environmental stewardship on site
- Provide leadership to ensure safe and efficient work execution of the Rotating Equipment Reliability Team
- Manage and be accountable for the performance of the Rotating Equipment Reliability Team including conducting performance evaluations for all direct reports
- Work in a collaborative manner to motivate the team and create a work environment where employees are equipped with the tools and skills required, are engaged in personal development, and contribute to the success of Itafos
- Facilitate the resolution of interpersonal and intrapersonal issues through coaching, mentoring, discipline or conflict resolution
- Coordinate reliability activities and delegate workload appropriately across team
- Provide technical assistance and direction for troubleshooting, analysis, and improvement efforts
- Identify solutions to complex problems and take necessary action to ensure the issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Work closely with stakeholders from multiple departments to ensure needs for the site are being met
- Manage and coordinate contractors as needed to meet the needs of the site
- Report on key reliability metrics
- Participate/lead projects and complete ad hoc requests as assigned by the Maintenance and Reliability Manager
- Develop and manage the budget for the Reliability cost center
- Ensure the site “Top 10 Bad Actor” lists are kept up to date and reviewed at least quarterly by stakeholders
- Manage the site Vulnerabilities List and facilitate monthly meetings to review it with stakeholders
- Be responsive to plant needs including outages and turnarounds during normal and off shift hours
- Own and develop site documents related to reliability and mechanical integrity
- Own and drive the Reliability Program for the site
Qualifications of the position include:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or appropriate field of study plus equivalent work experience is preferred
- 5+ years of experience working in Reliability/Engineering with manufacturing/production experience preferred
- Strong coaching, relationship and team building skills and ability to influence others
- Possess and ownership mindset
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with computers including Microsoft office package. Bentley APM and SAP experience is a plus
- Excellent work ethic and ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Be a self-starter, able to work with little direct oversight
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
- Willingness to learn and grow the position and people
- Demonstrated leadership ability with previous experience supervising others is a plus
- Possess troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to read, understand and apply codes, procedures, and policies
- Must be willing to attend training and complete courses as required to enhance skills
- Possess an in-depth understanding of Reliability fundamentals
- Must be able to prioritize and set work goals
- Ability to complete failure analysis and lead incident investigations
Work Schedule & Environment:
- 4-day x 10-hour workweek, typically Monday through Thursday
- Requirement to be responsive to plant needs, including production upsets, outages, and turnarounds, during normal and off shift hours
- Performing work in a combination of office/indoor and manufacturing/outdoor settings
- Typical manufacturing/processing environment working near moving equipment and mechanical parts, varying levels of noise, and near fumes or airborne particles
- Performing work outdoors in a variety of environmental conditions including elevated temperatures, cold, rain, snow, etc.
- Performing work from elevated heights, platforms, and/or ladders
- Performing work using a variety of types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, protective suits, fall protection, etc.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, and ascending/descending stairs
